Debut album of a wonderful hard rock band. Just a year before this event, the musicians changed the name of their band from City Kid to Tesla, under which they gained worldwide fame. For four years, the guys perfected their skills by playing on the warm-up of more eminent teams, and finally, they gave this listener this amazing plastic with a name taken from a physics course. "Mechanical Resonance" is a very mature work, in which traditional hard rock is closely intertwined with the blues. Of course, most of the songs performed in the traditional hard-rock key. At the same time, the group consciously ignores the glam aesthetics to which most groups of that time period were committed. No makeup, hairspray and sugary songs. Only the highest professionalism and impeccable possession of tools. Uncompromising drums are replaced by semi-acoustic and mid-tempo melodic compositions mixed in on the blues with acoustic sound. Just three or four songs became hits and performed at concerts so far. These are the perky "Little Suzi" and "Getting Better", the lyrical ballad "Changes" and the most hit "Modern Day Cowboy", which tells about the memories of the old gangster. One of the best examples of hard rock sound in the history of this style of music.
